Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910–1991) was born in Tibet and died in Bhutan. He was a philosopher and meditation master of the Mahamudra and Dzogchen traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism, as well as a scholar, poet, and teacher. He was one of the principal holders of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and was head of that lineage from 1987 to 1991.
