Cate Walker

Cate Walker first met the dharma in 1992 in Malaga, Spain and has been an active member of the local Australian sanghas on the east and west coast and around the world since then. She began teaching for Ole and Hannah in 2004 and currently lives in Canberra where she teaches Spanish in a bilingual high school, and spends her free time writing, bushwalking, and meditating.

Many of the Karma Kagyu Rinpoches and Lamas had connections to Australia from the very early days of when Tibetan Buddhism came to the West. Shamar Rinpoche ﬁrst visited in the late 1980s, and Lama Ole Nydahl and Hannah first came to Sydney in 1987. They came to visit Lama Trijam, who had been sent to prepare the way for a visit by his teacher, Nendo Rinpoche. Lama Ole and Hannah began making strong and lasting connections from that first visit.
